Not that special
As a retired last born and a Leo even tho I’m not so much of a zodiac person, one thing I had to unlearn was thinking the earth revolved around me.
I used to think I was very special and I’d often tie things that happened, to me even tho it was natures course.
And this wasn’t only thinking I needed to be constantly preferred but then I’d tie unfortunate events that happened close by to me existing around that person.
One day my best friend said to me, “Pere you’re not that special”.
I know you might be wandering why she’d say that but then it landed exactly how it was supposed to land and there was me.
I was in-between acceptance and de-centering myself, and as much as that isn’t the usual I had to unlearn. De-centering yourself isn’t self-deprecation. It’s accepting that not everything is about you—including the bad things.
The unlearning phase made me realize that some relationships that ended weren’t my fault, some things just simply ran its course and that was okay. Sometimes things happened not because of anything but because it was life.
I cannot attest to no longer feeling like the earth revolves around me, but then the unlearning process has birthed a certain type of understanding of what truly matters.
